Debido a la importancia que tiene el análisis presupuestario en el desarrollo de las políticas públicas, Sonora Ciudadana AC decidió enfocar sus esfuerzos en realizar investigaciones específicas en este rubro.

La elaboración del Índice Estatal de Transparencia Presupuestaria (IETP) surgió como una respuesta a la cada vez mayor participación de las entidades federativas en el ejercicio del gasto de la nación. Enmarcada dentro de un amplio movimiento que busca fortalecer e impulsar el derecho a la información y la transparencia.

Esta iniciativa tuvo como objetivo generar una herramienta que permitiera evaluar tanto las condiciones de acceso, como la calidad de la información presupuestaria en las 10 entidades federativas y posteriormente se emitieron una serie de recomendaciones al respecto.
